Buzzing with Brainpower: Edison’s Annual Math Bee Brings Excitement and Courage!

The excitement was in the air on Thursday, March 12, 2026, as Edison Elementary proudly hosted its Annual School-Wide Math Bee. Students filled the auditorium with anticipation, encouragement, and determination as young mathematicians from across the school gathered to test their skills.

Approximately 20 students competed in the 1st–2nd grade divisionand 17 in the 3rd–5th grade division. With the timer ticking and the room growing quiet before each question, students sat on pins and needles, carefully thinking through each problem.

The competition was intense! Despite a few tears and moments of frustration, every student demonstrated incredible perseverance, tenacity, and courage. Contestants bravely stepped forward, worked through challenging problems, and cheered one another on along the way. The Math Bee wasn’t just about getting the right answer—it was about courage, focus, and supporting classmates.

After several exciting and intense rounds, the winners were announced:

1st–2nd Grade Division
🥇 1st Place: 1st Grader - Patrick D. 
🥈 2nd Place: 2nd Grader - Chance J.

3rd–5th Grade Division
🥇 1st Place: 4th Grader - Elijah C.
🥈 2nd Place: 4th Grader - Chase C.

These outstanding mathematicians will now represent Edison Elementary School at the upcoming DPSCD District-Wide Math Bee. Their classmates and school community will be cheering them on and showing their support as they take the next exciting step in the competition.

All of the students who participated should feel incredibly proud. By stepping forward to compete, they overcame fear, challenged themselves, and supported one another, making this year’s Math Bee a truly memorable event.
